Approach
Dr. Goel works collaboratively with patients to clarify the issues they want to address, placing a sense of fulfillment in life at the heart of treatment. He approaches care holistically, treating not just symptoms or diagnoses, but whole people. He also helps his patients identify personal strengths, discover purpose, and cultivate healthy relationships.
He is also attuned to questions of identity, belonging, multicultural experience, and the impact of sociopolitical factors on mental health.
Treatments
Treatments include psychotherapy (talk therapy), medication management, or combination treatment based on each individual’s needs and preferences. He utilizes several psychotherapeutic approaches including short and long term psychodynamic psychotherapy, intensive short-term dynamic psychotherapy (ISTDP), and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), among others. Treatment durations vary based on each person’s goals. His flexible approach allows the treatment methods to change and evolve in response to shifting needs.
He offers consultations, evaluations, and ongoing treatment for adults and adolescents in New York City. He sees patients both virtually and in person near Grand Central Station.
